Martha E. Pollack named 14th president of Cornell University

Nov. 15, 2016

Dear Cornellians,

I write today with the wonderful news that the Cornell Board of Trustees this morning unanimously elected Martha E. Pollack, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at the University of Michigan, the 14th president of Cornell University. She will begin her term of office on April 17, 2017.

The Presidential Search Committee, under the leadership of its chair, Jan Rock Zubrow ‘77, did a fabulous job in selecting a proven leader and scholar to guide Cornell into its next, exciting chapter. Please join me in welcoming our president-elect to Cornell and in thanking Jan and the entire committee for their hard work and dedication to the university.

I encourage you to read the announcement in the Cornell Chronicle, and you can find out more about our next leader at the Presidential Search website

Best regards,

Robert S. Harrison
Chairman
Cornell University Board of Trustees
