Dear Cornell Students,
As we close the academic year, we have many opportunities to anticipate celebrations and beginnings, and reflect on the year’s experiences. The end of the term also can bring stress and worry about final papers, projects and exams and what follows next for our graduates. Sometimes these pressures can feel overwhelming.
Please remember: your well-being, physical and emotional, provides the foundation for your success; and you are not alone. Your friends, faculty advisors, student services staff and many others on campus can help you navigate whatever challenges you may face. Do not hesitate to take advantage of the support available through Gannett Health Services and a wide variety of additional resources listed on the Caring Community website, including the advising offices in each school/college. In turn, you can help others realize that they are not alone. If friends and classmates appear to be in need, please check in with them. The well-being of our community depends upon each of us taking care of ourselves and looking out for each other.
Throughout the year, you have demonstrated this care through the support for those affected by the Chapter House fire, the Every1 Campaign, the recent “I Don’t Say” campaign, consoling those who have lost dear friends and family members and the countless hours you spend as active bystanders and friends. Thank you for demonstrating the commitment to our values as a caring community.
We wish you the best in the coming weeks as you conclude your studies, research, teaching and outreach, and we trust your semester will be followed by an enjoyable and restful summer.
Sincerely,
Susan H. Murphy
Vice President Student Academic Services
